In the 10th minute, Sergio Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paul Heyckendorf made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 11th minute. Kurt Ahrem took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sylwester Chazon. Sylwester Chazon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Alex Mansilha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sylwester Chazon having to interfere. Paul Heyckendorf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lionel-Andrés Messi, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Academica Pulheim's Kurt Ahrem nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sylwester Chazon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Sylwester Chazon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Ahrem in the 22nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Lutz Golke's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sylwester Chazon was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Sylwester Chazon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Mansilha in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute Academica Pulheim were awarded a corner. Sylwester Chazon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academica Pulheim. Sylwester Chazon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Ahrem, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomás Clodio to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Tomás Clodio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paul Heyckendorf. Academica Pulheim's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomás Clodio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After 57 played minutes Pretoria Gostyń got a freekick which was hit by Lionel-Andrés Messi. In the 59th minute Maxime Vrints shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sylwester Chazon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Alex Mansilha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Academica Pulheim made a substitution. Roberto Seppmann replaced Reinhard Baum. The audience was convinced that Maxime Vrints's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sylwester Chazon was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. After 67 minutes, Maxime Vrints made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Pretoria Gostyń's Sylwester Chazon tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Pretoria Gostyń getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Arkadiusz Kuszczak hit a great ball. In the 89th minute of the game Roberto Seppmann made a throw-in which Gary Lineker played forward. After taking down the ball on Academica Pulheim's corner Alex Mansilha fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sylwester Chazon quite easily take care of the ball.
