After 10 minutes of play, Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ergo Muro was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Caatiba MZC's Ergo Muro got control of the ball when Nick Heesen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niceto Ihazintu in the 14th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Caatiba MZC's Niceto Ihazintu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Georg Hagberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Niceto Ihazintu might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Georg Hagberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niceto Ihazintu ran back to his position shaking his head. Georg Hagberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niceto Ihazintu in the 20th minute of the match. Niceto Ihazintu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Georg Hagberg having to make a save. Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niceto Ihazintu in the 28th minute of play. Fahl Figueroa made in the 30th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ágætis Byrjun's Gregorio Urtsin. Ergo Muro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Heesen in the 33rd minute of play. Ergo Muro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nick Heesen in the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Henrique in the 38th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nick Heesen scored 2-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ergo Muro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fahl Figueroa got a throw-in 46 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Miguel Lizer. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Ergo Muro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nick Heesen in the 51st minute of the match. In the 58th minute of the game Benedito Domingues made a throw-in which Niceto Ihazintu played forward. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Nick Heesen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ágætis Byrjun's supporters rose to their feet, but Nick Heesen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ergo Muro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Benedito Domingues fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caatiba MZC's protests and gave Benedito Domingues a yellow card for diving instead. Benedito Domingues hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. A collision led to Caatiba MZC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Benedito Domingues hit a great ball. Nick Heesen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ergo Muro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. After 75 minutes Caatiba MZC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ladislao Cordarius who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ágætis Byrjun's corner Ladislao Cordarius fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ergo Muro quite easily take care of the ball. When Jorge Henrique came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Caatiba MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Henrique couldn't finish the play. Ágætis Byrjun's Dennis Moermans was substituted for Ernst Melis. Ergo Muro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nick Heesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nick Heesen in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ergo Muro saved Caatiba MZC from getting behind. Georg Hagberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Henrique, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Caatiba MZC's Ergo Muro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nick Heesen in the 93rd minute of play.

Ágætis Byrjun's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
