Everardo Ado had in the 15thth minute some difficulties stopping Orfilio Orbañanos's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orfilio Orbañanos in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Everardo Ado saved Algarrobo from getting behind. Everardo Ado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Orfilio Orbañanos went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Algarrobo's Sarracino Agurto was substituted for Edmundo Cañas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kim Heers in the 26th minute of play forced Algarrobo's goalkeeper Everardo Ado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orfilio Orbañanos might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Everardo Ado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Orfilio Orbañanos made a kick off.
