A nice corner shot did that Xacobo Barroso got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ariel Balboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 9th minute Domingo Barcena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodemo Recalde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's León Philippi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicodemo Recalde narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ariel Balboa made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Marcel Blanco sent off a good shot on target. Orfilio Orbañanos might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicodemo Recalde. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Orfilio Orbañanos ran back to his position shaking his head. Nicodemo Recalde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orfilio Orbañanos in the 17th minute of play. Ariel Balboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Vicente Soler in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, VILLANUEVA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Orfilio Orbañanos came free, but Nicodemo Recalde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicodemo Recalde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orfilio Orbañanos, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Nicodemo Recalde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orfilio Orbañanos's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. U. de Tarapacá's Ariel Balboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Vicente Soler in the 37th minute of play. The supporters of U. de Tarapacá booed when VILLANUEVA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Rosselot didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Vicente Soler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the U. de Tarapacá defense, Jorge Vicente Soler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ariel Balboa. The U. de Tarapacá fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ariel Balboa should have stopped the shot. Nicodemo Recalde made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Orfilio Orbañanos sent off a good shot on target. In the 60th minute, Xalvador Mac Kenney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicodemo Recalde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingo Barcena in the 64th minute of the match. U. de Tarapacá's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by León Philippi in the 68th minute. Atahan Hatemoğlu tried in the 68th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Nicodemo Recalde a with quite unnecessary self made goal. After a defensive mix-up in VILLANUEVA FC's zone, Orfilio Orbañanos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicodemo Recalde came out of the goal and Orfilio Orbañanos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Orfilio Orbañanos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicodemo Recalde having to make a save. Orfilio Orbañanos came free with the goalkeeper in the 81st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nicodemo Recalde could save by the left post. Orfilio Orbañanos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicodemo Recalde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. After 89 played minutes U. de Tarapacá got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Mangueira. After recieving a nice pass, VILLANUEVA FC's Xacobo Barroso tried to score from far away in the 90th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ariel Balboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xacobo Barroso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
