The audience thought a goal was coming when Remigio Erramu got free with Alexsandro Godoi in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Andrea Tofani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrea Tofani in the 12th minute of play. Andrea Tofani's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pankracy Glogowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Pankracy Glogowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrea Tofani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Andrea Tofani put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Pankracy Glogowski. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
