The supporters of Alianza FC booed when Yucatan F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Maraman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Alianza FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Frichoso came free, but Ondino Bispo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ondino Bispo came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Yucatan F.C.'s Wilfredo Franco. But to his dismay, Wilfredo Franco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Wilfredo Franco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ondino Bispo having to interfere. A collision led to Yucatan F.C. getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Tomás Calvino hit a great ball. Florentino Gurutz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lugo Mascareñas's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Tomás Calvino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Ondino Bispo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yucatan F.C.'s Florentino Gurutz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lugo Mascareñas in the 32nd minute of play. Rafael Frichoso hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Florentino Gurutz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lugo Mascareñas in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th minute Lugo Mascareñas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Gurutz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Rafael Frichoso got his second yellow card in the match during the 50th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Rafael Frichoso kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. A collision led to Yucatan F.C. getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Wilfredo Franco hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Lugo Mascareñas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Florentino Gurutz was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Florentino Gurutz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lugo Mascareñas, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After 67 played minutes Yucatan F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Zeledon Maraman. In the 69th minute, Zeledon Maraman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florentino Gurutz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lugo Mascareñas in the 74th minute of play. Yucatan F.C.'s Florentino Gurutz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lugo Mascareñas in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lugo Mascareñas in the 77th minute of play forced Yucatan F.C.'s goalkeeper Florentino Gurutz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomás Calvino kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Lugo Mascareñas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florentino Gurutz. Yucatan F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lugo Mascareñas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 89thth minute of the game Lugo Mascareñas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yucatan F.C.'s Florentino Gurutz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Lugo Mascareñas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Florentino Gurutz was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. When the referee ended the match the Alianza FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
