The referee ignored Burnley FC's protests and gave Anthony Pietrantoni a yellow card for diving instead. Anthony Pietrantoni hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Per-Åke Nordstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Falcioni having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, Burnley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Zeciu to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aaron Fors to make the kick off. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Billy Pihl showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Zlatan BK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
