Dave Falcioni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fritz Hahn, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. When Gene Centaurs Munich's Fritz Hahn in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 31 minutes of play, Gene Centaurs Munich's Hartmut Hester made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dave Falcioni was left in no man's land by his defense there! Burnley FC's Dave Falcioni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fritz Hahn in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Fritz Hahn made a precise shot to the right of Dave Falcioni. Burnley FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Dave Falcioni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fritz Hahn in the 42nd minute of the match. Dave Falcioni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fritz Hahn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Hartmut Hester had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dave Falcioni. Burnley FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hartmut Hester was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fritz Hahn to make the kick off. Burnley FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Fritz Hahn scored to the left of an out of position Dave Falcioni, making the score, 0-7. After a rather tough play, Burnley FC's Freddy Falcon got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute of the match Hartmut Hester shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dave Falcioni showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dave Falcioni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fritz Hahn in the 73rd minute of play. 74 minutes into the game, Gene Centaurs Munich's Hartmut Hester nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dave Falcioni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. Ulli Pronold received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dave Falcioni came out and tried to block the shot, but Ulli Pronold slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 77th minute. The supporters of Burnley FC booed when Gene Centaurs Munich was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Opus Asbeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fritz Hahn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hartmut Hester got free with Dave Falcioni in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match was over Gene Centaurs Munich could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Burnley FC throughout the match.
