Hristo Stoichkov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Durval Guerra made a huge save. 7 minutes into the match, Athletico Picapedrense's goal looked a bit too open when Dito Ramos came free, but Jesus Sayveon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Durval Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlondo Aguado in the 17th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Hristo Stoichkov recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Durval Guerra. Hristo Stoichkov showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Lorenzo Jubera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Durval Guerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute Hristo Stoichkov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlondo Aguado in the 41st minute of play forced Icoara Football Club's goalkeeper Durval Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murilo Silveira's late challenge caught a Athletico Picapedrense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Murilo Silveira helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Athletico Picapedrense booed when Icoara Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Durval Guerra made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Hristo Stoichkov sent off a good shot on target.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hristo Stoichkov to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hristo Stoichkov in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Durval Guerra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hristo Stoichkov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durval Guerra having to make a save. When Hristo Stoichkov came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Athletico Picapedrense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hristo Stoichkov couldn't finish the play. Icoara Football Club's Durval Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlondo Aguado in the 58th minute of play. In the 64th minute, Eloi Fontanella left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Athletico Picapedrense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Durval Guerra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eloi Fontanella went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Durval Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloi Fontanella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Athletico Picapedrense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Icoara Football Club the free kick. After 76 played minutes Athletico Picapedrense got a freekick which was hit by Ali Ömer Ongu. Zenon Klewinski might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Durval Guerra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zenon Klewinski ran back to his position shaking his head. Murilo Silveira hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, Eloi Fontanella had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Durval Guerra. Icoara Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eloi Fontanella was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Durval Guerra came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Athletico Picapedrense's Eloi Fontanella. But to his dismay, Eloi Fontanella quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Eloi Fontanella took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durval Guerra. Durval Guerra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Athletico Picapedrense fully deserved thier win.
