Vitinho Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Goicoechea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute, Fabio Artaldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pankracy Glogowski acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 16th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Zé Carlos Moreno. 18 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Kvarnström came free, but Pankracy Glogowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Lidice's Pankracy Glogowski threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Daniel Kvarnström, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Pankracy Glogowski was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Zé Carlos Moreno. Pankracy Glogowski made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Johnny Van Hoeyvelt sent off a good shot on target. Lidice were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Club Atlético Atlanta's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Zé Carlos Moreno took the corner. The corner led Club Atlético Atlanta's Alfonso Goicoechea to fire away a dangerous shot which Vitinho Gaspar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Paolo Caradaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitinho Gaspar having to interfere. Zé Carlos Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfonso Goicoechea made a kick off. In the 51st minute Daniel Kvarnström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Anselmo Nevada fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Atlanta's protests and gave Anselmo Nevada a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 70th minute of play forced Lidice's goalkeeper Vitinho Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 75 played minutes Lidice got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Moreno. With a little luck, Lidice's Vitinho Gaspar got control of the ball when Paolo Caradaro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Mugur Chiriac dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vitinho Gaspar, 0-2. Vitinho Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugur Chiriac in the 83rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfonso Goicoechea got free with Vitinho Gaspar in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hernan Lon kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Mugur Chiriac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the game, Club Atlético Atlanta's Alfonso Goicoechea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vitinho Gaspar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Club Atlético Atlanta's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
