Caco Azevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 11th minute Dalmo de Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caco Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Igor Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Aesir FC FSCMZ's Luiz Eduardo Galvão got control of the ball when Cléber da Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SORRISO E. C.'s zone, Igor Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caco Azevedo came out of the goal and Igor Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Aesir FC FSCMZ booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válter Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Manoel de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aesir FC FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Manoel de Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caco Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute, Osmar Marinho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aesir FC FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Igor Porto struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Murilo Prestes made a kick off. Murilo Prestes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SORRISO E. C.'s Caco Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osmar Marinho in the 61st minute of play. Caco Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Porto in the 63rd minute of the match. Igor Porto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Caco Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Murilo Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Eduardo Galvão having to interfere. Murilo Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Luiz Eduardo Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Murilo Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Eduardo Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo Prestes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Murilo Prestes in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Eduardo Galvão saved Aesir FC FSCMZ from getting behind. Murilo Prestes might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Eduardo Galvão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Murilo Prestes ran back to his position shaking his head. Gustavo Romero hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Aesir FC FSCMZ's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
