Josué Lago charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Josué Lago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Akira アキラ getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Akira アキラ's goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tenho Bolas got a throw-in 42 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Josué Lago. Alexandre Brasil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hermínio Motta went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Giorgi Mamardashvili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Eger in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laércio Torres to make the kick off. Tenho Bolas made in the 54th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Josué Lago immediately put the ball in play. Giorgi Mamardashvili made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. Horacio Sayveon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giorgi Mamardashvili read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play.
