Copérnico F.C.'s Francisco Herrera was substituted for Manuel Jatsu. Herminio Guillelme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Mero in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Copérnico F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ariel Delfino to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes in the game, Domingos Aires dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 66th minute of the match, Petruț Fințescu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Herminio Guillelme was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Copérnico F.C. were furious when Ariel Delfino was red carded, 71 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 71st minute, one of Copérnico F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Copérnico F.C.. With a little luck, Copérnico F.C.'s Herminio Guillelme got control of the ball when Petruț Fințescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute Arnoldo Txatxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Nazario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Copérnico F.C.'s Herminio Guillelme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Copérnico F.C. from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle sounded Argentinos Juniors left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Copérnico F.C..
