In the 4th minute, Henric Springfält fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Leopoldo Lastur, passed just outside the right post. With a little luck, Leones FC's Leopoldo Lastur got control of the ball when Clemente Rubio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leones FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Clemente Rubio scored to the left of an out of position Leopoldo Lastur, making the score, 1-0. Venancio Lop blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leopoldo Lastur having to make a save. A collision led to Leones FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Godfredo Ascencio hit a great ball. Leones FC's Martin Rami got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ruben Gentza came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Basavilbaso FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruben Gentza couldn't finish the play. In the 24th match minute, Leones FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dante Mannie to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Basavilbaso FC's Ruben Gentza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Leopoldo Lastur. Leopoldo Lastur yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Dante Mannie kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Venancio Lop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Leopoldo Lastur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Clemente Rubio to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Basavilbaso FC's Clemente Rubio got a free kick in the 50th minute. In the 52nd match minute, Leones FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dante Mannie to maneuver through the defense. Norbert Van den Gans might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leopoldo Lastur. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Norbert Van den Gans ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Basavilbaso FC booed when Leones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javier Richie didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Leones FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clemente Rubio came free, but Leopoldo Lastur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ruben Gentza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Leones FC's Dante Mannie seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dante Mannie the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Leones FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dante Mannie had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Leones FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! Leones FC:s Leopoldo Lastur showed great skill when he stopped Henric Springfält:s penalty. In the 68th minute, Godfredo Ascencio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leones FC's Leopoldo Lastur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Rubio in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute of the match Basavilbaso FC got a corner. Leones FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henric Springfält ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 85th minute Henric Springfält shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Lastur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 minutes, Radomir Ratulowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Basavilbaso FC and the Leones FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Radomir Ratulowski hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 97 minutes into the match, Leones FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Gentza came free, but Leopoldo Lastur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 97th match minute, Leones FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Mundo to maneuver through the defense.
