The referee ignored Club Atlético Atlanta's protests and gave Remigio Erramu a yellow card for diving instead. Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Atlanta from getting a goal against them. In the 8th minute, Manuel Jatsu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pankracy Glogowski. The goal made the score 1-0. Alfonso Goicoechea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Ferdinand in the 13th minute of play forced Copérnico F.C.'s goalkeeper Herminio Guillelme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Manuel Jatsu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Manuel Jatsu came free with the goalkeeper in the 24th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pankracy Glogowski could save by the left post. Herminio Guillelme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugur Chiriac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the game, Club Atlético Atlanta's Mugur Chiriac nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Herminio Guillelme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 33 minutes into the game, Emil Chwalkiewicz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Atlanta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Copérnico F.C. the free kick. Copérnico F.C. made a substitution. Francisco Herrera replaced Lucas Luar. Emil Chwalkiewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Manuel Jatsu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Copérnico F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Jatsu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pankracy Glogowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alvaro Montrell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Pankracy Glogowski made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Manuel Jatsu could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which Pankracy Glogowski however easily saved by the left post. The supporters of Copérnico F.C. booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mugur Chiriac didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Goicoechea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Copérnico F.C. booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lázaro Cuartio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 53 minutes, Ariel Delfino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Copérnico F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Ariel Delfino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Copérnico F.C. made a substitution. Severiano Cuartio replaced Ermegildo Goizeder. Francisco Herrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herminio Guillelme was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alfonso Goicoechea showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 64 minute of play. Herminio Guillelme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mugur Chiriac in the 67th minute of the match. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Copérnico F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ciro Ferdinand was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Atlético Atlanta's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Ciro Ferdinand almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Copérnico F.C.'s Herminio Guillelme did a great save. After 71 minutes of play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Mugur Chiriac made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Herminio Guillelme was left in no man's land by his defense there! Herminio Guillelme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 79th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Copérnico F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Mugur Chiriac came free, but Herminio Guillelme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Herminio Guillelme made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Alfonso Goicoechea sent off a good shot on target. In the 85th minute of the match, Paolo Caradaro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Herminio Guillelme was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 95th minute, Mugur Chiriac got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Copérnico F.C.'s Herminio Guillelme got control of the ball when Alfonso Goicoechea tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Club Atlético Atlanta eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
