In the 22ndth minute of the game Gilberto Izel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club A. Chipa y Tereré's Paulo Segio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute Enrique Rozarius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Segio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Gilberto Izel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Segio. Club A. Chipa y Tereré's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilberto Izel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Olari Mõniste could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Franco Moscatelli made a huge save.

The wind increased when Gilberto Izel made the kick off in the second half. Gilberto Izel might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Segio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto Izel ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 58th match minute, La Scaloneta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Cidro to maneuver through the defense. Franco Moscatelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolando Corderun in the 59th minute of the match. Gilberto Izel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Segio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 71st minute, Gilberto Izel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Segio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Paulo Segio was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Gilberto Izel capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gilberto Izel really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. 83 minutes into the match, Club A. Chipa y Tereré's goalkeeper Paulo Segio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Polat Aranda. After a defensive mix-up in Club A. Chipa y Tereré's zone, Gilberto Izel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Segio came out of the goal and Gilberto Izel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gilberto Izel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Leonides Velasco fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club A. Chipa y Tereré's protests and gave Leonides Velasco a yellow card for diving instead. After 92 played minutes Club A. Chipa y Tereré got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Velasco. When Gilberto Izel came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the La Scaloneta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Izel couldn't finish the play.
