The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kong Zheng Fan during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Virgilio Sotil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Quinto in the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute of the match Leones FC got a corner. Villa Mitre's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dante Mannie ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Dante Mannie got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Virgilio Sotil quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Leopoldo Lastur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kong Zheng Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gaspar Mateo came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Villa Mitre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaspar Mateo couldn't finish the play. After 31 played minutes Leones FC got a freekick which was hit by Severino Ler. Gerardo Resto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Leopoldo Lastur made a huge save. Leones FC's Leopoldo Lastur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaspar Mateo in the 37th minute of play. Virgilio Sotil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilfredo Quinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The wind increased when Wilfredo Quinto made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Leones FC's Nicanor Florinio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Virgilio Sotil. Virgilio Sotil yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kong Zheng Fan in the 54th minute of play forced Leones FC's goalkeeper Leopoldo Lastur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgardo Calvino's late challenge caught a Villa Mitre's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgardo Calvino helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Leones FC's zone, Benê Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Lastur came out of the goal and Benê Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Moisés Coutinho hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Moisés Coutinho charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Moisés Coutinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Moisés Coutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After having played for 63 minutes, Wilfredo Quinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 65th minute, Nicanor Florinio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leones FC's Leopoldo Lastur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Coutinho in the 68th minute of play. Gerardo Resto took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leopoldo Lastur. Leopoldo Lastur dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. When Villa Mitre's Gaspar Mateo in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Villa Mitre booed when Leones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgardo Calvino didn't get a good kick on the ball.
