Heimko Schober started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Leones FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Rafael Maura hit a great ball. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Maximilian Stößlein in the 16th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Amador Jakue successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sönke Odenwälder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejo Louis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Bruce Pesch put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Amador Jakue. After 21 played minutes Leones FC got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Faro. Alejo Louis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruce Pesch in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amador Jakue, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 29th minute, Alejo Louis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leones FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After some careless play in the Leones FC defense, Bruce Pesch kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amador Jakue. The Leones FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amador Jakue should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heimko Schober in the 45th minute of play forced Leones FC's goalkeeper Amador Jakue to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Christian Streich hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Alejo Louis made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Leones FC's Emiliano Faro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sönke Odenwälder. Sönke Odenwälder yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Amador Jakue didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roger Dohmen went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. When Leones FC's Alejo Louis in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalie prevented a goal. Batho König received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Amador Jakue tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amador Jakue made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruce Pesch in the 67th minute of play. After 72 minutes of play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Patrick Osterhagen made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amador Jakue was left in no man's land by his defense there! Christian Streich charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Streich the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Christian Streich kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Batho König ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amador Jakue was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. If Heimko Schober had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Amador Jakue didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Heimko Schober went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. booed when Leones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Ferdinand didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Leones FC's Jaime Mundo got a free kick in the 94th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. fully deserved thier win.
