Leones FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maní FC the free kick. The supporters of Maní FC booed when Leones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Mannie didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rodolfo Suero fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maní FC's protests and gave Rodolfo Suero a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Maní FC's Rodolfo Suero got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute, Emiliano Faro sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Maní FC's Higinio Lizbeth didn't even have to move. A collision led to Leones FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Godfredo Ascencio hit a great ball. Higinio Lizbeth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alejo Louis, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Ramone in the 19th minute of play forced Leones FC's goalkeeper Amador Jakue to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Maní FC's Higinio Lizbeth got control of the ball when Alejo Louis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fausto Lano's late challenge caught a Leones FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fausto Lano helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th minute, Fausto Lano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodolfo Suero got his second yellow card in the match during the 32nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Rodolfo Suero kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Jaime Mundo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Higinio Lizbeth was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 47 played minutes Maní FC got a freekick which was hit by Christian Ramone. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ovidio Weterio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Leones FC's Alejo Louis got a free kick in the 55th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Emiliano Faro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Higinio Lizbeth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alejo Louis took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Higinio Lizbeth. Higinio Lizbeth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Maní FC's Higinio Lizbeth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Mundo in the 68th minute of play. Amador Jakue showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingos Remigio, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. A collision led to Maní FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Rafael Urki hit a great ball. Fausto Lano was shown his second yellow card after 82 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 83rd minute, Fausto Lano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 84 played minutes, Leones FC's Everardo Loi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Higinio Lizbeth came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Leones FC reached it. 89 minutes into the game, Emiliano Faro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Higinio Lizbeth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 94th minute Jaime Mundo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Lizbeth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maní FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
