In the 4th minute Peter Wiltshire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sönke Odenwälder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sönke Odenwälder came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Memphis Grizzlies's Peter Wiltshire. But to his dismay, Peter Wiltshire quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Erich Kellner kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Phillip Byfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Ture Nadolski hit a great ball. In the 10th minute of the match Phillip Byfield shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sönke Odenwälder showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sönke Odenwälder didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Memphis Grizzlies's Franz Henry shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Sönke Odenwälder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franz Henry in the 14th minute of play. Memphis Grizzlies's attentive Ron Mansfield managed to snatch the ball when Christian Streich made a throw-in in the 20th minute of the game. Sönke Odenwälder came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Memphis Grizzlies's Peter Wiltshire. But to his dismay, Peter Wiltshire quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Heimko Schober kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Batho König hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franz Henry in the 31st minute of play forced SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Sönke Odenwälder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ture Nadolski hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. When Peter Wiltshire came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Memphis Grizzlies fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Wiltshire couldn't finish the play. Memphis Grizzlies's Rodney Church proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Memphis Grizzlies from getting a goal against them. After 45 played minutes SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. got a freekick which was hit by Erich Kellner. 46 minutes into the match, Memphis Grizzlies's Phillip Byfield broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Franz Henry struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Sönke Odenwälder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Memphis Grizzlies. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Peter Wiltshire stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Maximilian Stößlein couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Memphis Grizzlies. Sönke Odenwälder made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Franz Henry sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th minute Peter Wiltshire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sönke Odenwälder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Memphis Grizzlies's Phillip Byfield got a free kick in the 75th minute. Memphis Grizzlies's Zack Tomelty was substituted for Franz Henry. Phillip Byfield kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Roger Dohmen scored 1-3 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodney Church, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sönke Odenwälder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zack Tomelty in the 82nd minute of the match. If Bruce Pesch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patrick Osterhagen during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Patrick Osterhagen hit a great ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Memphis Grizzlies walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
