After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Batho König got a free kick in the 38th minute. With a little luck, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Sönke Odenwälder got control of the ball when Franz Henry tried to sneak it across the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruce Pesch made a kick off. Brian Patterson hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Peter Wiltshire came free, but Sönke Odenwälder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Phillip Byfield got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sönke Odenwälder quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruce Pesch in the 66th minute of play forced Memphis Grizzlies's goalkeeper Rodney Church to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodney Church showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Dohmen in the 67th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Franz Henry managed to get in a good position for a shot. Memphis Grizzlies's supporters rose to their feet, but Franz Henry was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sönke Odenwälder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 77th minute, Richard Stockley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
