When Emanuele Di Marzio fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gualdo FC's protests and gave Emanuele Di Marzio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gualdo FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Elia Alonzi hit a great ball. Alvise Ciarrocchi acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 6th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ciaran McAy. John McLae received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alvise Ciarrocchi came out and tried to block the shot, but John McLae slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. When Jason Geddes came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Edinburgh City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jason Geddes couldn't finish the play. Jason Geddes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Orlandi in the 21st minute of play forced Edinburgh City's goalkeeper Tom Saunders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvise Ciarrocchi didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 34th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Edinburgh City's Jason Geddes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alvise Ciarrocchi. That made the score 4-0 after 36 minutes of play. In the 42nd minute, Edinburgh City's John McLae ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alvise Ciarrocchi. Alvise Ciarrocchi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. Jason Geddes took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvise Ciarrocchi. Alvise Ciarrocchi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John McLae stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Frankie Conlon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Edinburgh City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Anfilogino Manzoli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gualdo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anfilogino Manzoli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tom Saunders breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Darius McOmie hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute of the game Jonathan Carlyle made a throw-in which Josh McLairish played forward. John McLae scored 9-0 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvise Ciarrocchi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Edinburgh City defense, Alvaro Orlandi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tom Saunders. The Edinburgh City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tom Saunders should have stopped the shot. 82 minutes into the game, Gualdo FC's Alvaro Orlandi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tom Saunders made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-2. In the 86th minute, Emanuele Di Marzio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Carlyle made in the 95th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Josh McLairish. When Fulvio Corvasce fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gualdo FC's protests and gave Fulvio Corvasce a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gualdo FC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Fulvio Corvasce hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Edinburgh City fully deserved thier win.
