With an all-out effort, Lerum F's Sune Snäll threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sten Falck, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 11 minutes into the game, Matthias Grubb cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sven-Olof Hjortsberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roger Ahlbom struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Sune Snäll didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lerum F. In the 17th minute of the match, Sten Falck tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sune Snäll saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Sven-Olof Hjortsberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stefan Larsfelt went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. If Matthias Grubb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boris Molander made in the 31st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Grillby FC's William Lund. If Sten Falck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lerum F's Roger Ahlbom got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sten Falck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sune Snäll having to make a save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matthias Grubb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Grillby FC's Kalle Wik got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Kalle Wik hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Sune Snäll took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sten Falck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Matthias Grubb managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grillby FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Matthias Grubb was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven-Olof Hjortsberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rdth minute of the game Matthias Grubb who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lerum F's Sven-Olof Hjortsberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Allan Mattsson's late challenge caught a Grillby FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Allan Mattsson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Lerum F getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Allan Mattsson hit a great ball. Sune Snäll stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sten Falck's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. If Roger Ahlbom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 75 minutes into the match, Lerum F's goalkeeper Sven-Olof Hjortsberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stefan Larsfelt. Matthias Grubb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Sven-Olof Hjortsberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven-Olof Hjortsberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthias Grubb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Ahlbom in the 82nd minute of play forced Grillby FC's goalkeeper Sune Snäll to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roger Ahlbom kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After 88 played minutes Lerum F got a freekick which was hit by Sten Falck. The audience was convinced that Sten Falck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sune Snäll was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Sten Falck scored 2-2 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sune Snäll, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
