The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Danilo Villafane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cirilo Rik in the 4th minute of the match. Xove Matute fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Barto having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Inter de Guayaquil FC's Cumbicus Caller slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Severino Barto. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. If Xove Matute had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danilo Villafane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Jatsu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cumbicus Caller could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Severino Barto made a huge save. Danilo Villafane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeo Emenon, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eulalio Rafe came free, but Danilo Villafane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel Larpe kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cumbicus Caller in the 30th minute of play forced RED DEVIL's goalkeeper Severino Barto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Villafuerte Pando was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 38 minutes into the match. The supporters of RED DEVIL booed when Inter de Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Villafuerte Pando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucas Aureo struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Danilo Villafane didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RED DEVIL. After a rather tough play, RED DEVIL's Ricardo Oidor got a free kick in the 44th minute. Severino Barto acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 45th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vinicio Idiaquez. In the 47th match minute, RED DEVIL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Oidor to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A collision led to RED DEVIL getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Evaristo Errolan hit a great ball. Ricardo Oidor hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute of the match Vinicio Idiaquez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Severino Barto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cirilo Rik took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Danilo Villafane. Danilo Villafane dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 70th minute Cumbicus Caller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Barto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucas Aureo kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Severino Barto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cumbicus Caller's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Danilo Villafane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Jatsu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erwin Virues charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erwin Virues the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. During the 90th minute of the match Lucas Aureo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Lucas Aureo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Lucas Aureo kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Inter de Guayaquil FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of RED DEVIL for a fine match.
