In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind KP Brzeg Dolny's goalkeeper Antoni Piesciuk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anacleto Aceituno hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Radomir Zdrojowy came free, but Daniel Kieca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The coaching staff of KP Brzeg Dolny protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Krzysztof Majtyka had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. When Radomil Michnik came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Poland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radomil Michnik couldn't finish the play. Poland were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after KP Brzeg Dolny's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Radomil Michnik took the corner. Gilbert Cipinski was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post.

Antoni Piesciuk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Konstanty Janiczek in the 85th minute of play. Tadeusz Raschke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Tadeusz Raschke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antoni Piesciuk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Konstanty Janiczek in the 95th minute of play.
