With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Barreiros in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan Carlos Olave saved Atibaia Raiders from getting behind. After 16 played minutes, RED DEVIL's Fernando Barreiros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juan Carlos Olave came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in RED DEVIL reached it. In the 21st minute Fernando Barreiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Carlos Olave saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. RED DEVIL's Ali Cafer Konuralp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejo Ferdinand in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 minutes, Pål Stensson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atibaia Raiders and the RED DEVIL players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Túlio Maravilha to make the kick off. The Atibaia Raiders fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when Atibaia Raiders's Afonsinho Mesquita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The RED DEVIL supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing RED DEVIL would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
