SC Braga's Laçın Cumayev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Chiriac in the 5th minute of play. Laçın Cumayev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Goicoechea, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Alfonso Goicoechea notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SC Braga's Laçın Cumayev. Laçın Cumayev was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 15th minute, SC Braga's André Jordão dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Zigmantas Gimbutas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 20 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Zigmantas Gimbutas came free, but Pankracy Glogowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 21st minute of play forced SC Braga's goalkeeper Laçın Cumayev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zigmantas Gimbutas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pankracy Glogowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 30th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute Zigmantas Gimbutas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laçın Cumayev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Goicoechea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charl De Metser kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Anselmo Nevada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zigmantas Gimbutas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pankracy Glogowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Zigmantas Gimbutas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pankracy Glogowski came out of the goal and Zigmantas Gimbutas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Braga made a substitution. Antonio Cieri replaced Benjamin de Lara. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pankracy Glogowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 73rd minute SC Braga were awarded a corner. Jon-Egil Sætre went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led SC Braga's Jon-Egil Sætre to fire away a dangerous shot which Pankracy Glogowski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Stig-Åke Mattsson notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski. Pankracy Glogowski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 88 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goal looked a bit too open when Mugur Chiriac came free, but Laçın Cumayev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Mattsson came free, but Pankracy Glogowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
