In the 47thth minute of the game Louis McWill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Thames FC's Trev Cahill was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Cosme Estebano charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cosme Estebano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Blaithmeic Dempsey kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Tod Cartwright struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Lisandro Ospin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Quinn Coyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trev Cahill having to interfere. After 95 minutes of play, Guinness Athletic's Quinn Coyle made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Trev Cahill was left in no man's land by his defense there! River Thames FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
