In the 14th minute, Brennan McGlynn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Theo Groom stood somewhat misplaced when Quinn Coyle came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 22 minute. Quinn Coyle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Theo Groom made a huge save. Harry Robson's late challenge caught a Guinness Athletic's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harry Robson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th match minute, East Ham United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Robson to maneuver through the defense. Guinness Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Louis McWill was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Theo Groom prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
