In the 10th minute, Halvor Ejsved left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Åkirkeby FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Alex Froholdt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 17 minutes into the game, Marcus Swift was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Thames FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åkirkeby FC the free kick. In the 25thth minute of the game Jens Harsted who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Thames FC's Trev Cahill was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ture Wiid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, Aras Görkem Zümer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jess Mørkner. Åkirkeby FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aras Görkem Zümer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian York in the 39th minute of play forced Åkirkeby FC's goalkeeper Jess Mørkner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trev Cahill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens Harsted in the 44th minute of the match. After 45 played minutes River Thames FC got a freekick which was hit by Loyd Harrington. In the 48th minute, Jens Harsted got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

When Ian York came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the River Thames FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ian York couldn't finish the play. Jess Mørkner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Swift in the 55th minute of the match. Halvor Ejsved received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Trev Cahill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Loyd Harrington hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute of the match, Jens Harsted tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Trev Cahill saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Åkirkeby FC's attentive Herman Grodorf managed to snatch the ball when Jerome Cartwright made a throw-in in the 67th minute of the game. 71 minutes into the game, Ian York cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Jess Mørkner was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The throw-in from Heinrich Almose in the 76th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by River Thames FC's Stuart Ratcliffe. Halvor Ejsved's late challenge caught a River Thames FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Halvor Ejsved helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of River Thames FC booed when Åkirkeby FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Halvor Ejsved didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ian York in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jess Mørkner saved Åkirkeby FC from getting behind. Stuart Ratcliffe made in the 89th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Aras Görkem Zümer. Marcus Swift struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Jess Mørkner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Thames FC. In the 93rd minute, Aras Görkem Zümer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jess Mørkner was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. River Thames FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Åkirkeby FC for a fine match.
