William McJames hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. In the 4th minute, Jens Harsted fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Brandon Borthwick, passed just outside the right post. Halvor Ejsved recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Åkirkeby FC booed when Dundee Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josh Galloway didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jens Harsted fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brandon Borthwick having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver McIlvride in the 13th minute of play forced Åkirkeby FC's goalkeeper Jess Mørkner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Åkirkeby FC's Jess Mørkner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gus Simpson in the 14th minute of play. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dundee Rovers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ture Wiid was slow to take the kick. During this time Åkirkeby FC's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Åkirkeby FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Heinrich Almose hit a great ball. Dundee Rovers's Oliver McIlvride got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The throw-in from Keith Beton in the 22nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Åkirkeby FC's Helmuth Rahbek. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Herman Grodorf during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jens Harsted fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brandon Borthwick having to interfere. Åkirkeby FC's Jess Mørkner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver McIlvride in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute Gus Simpson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jess Mørkner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Keith Beton made in the 37th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Nick McDonachie however managed to control. Gus Simpson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brandon Borthwick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens Harsted, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 47th minute of the game William McJames made a throw-in which Dean Dyer played forward. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 50 minutes, Josh Galloway mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dundee Rovers and the Åkirkeby FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Dundee Rovers getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Josh Galloway hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dundee Rovers's zone, Alex Froholdt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brandon Borthwick came out of the goal and Alex Froholdt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dean Dyer hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Dundee Rovers's Oliver McIlvride slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jess Mørkner. That made the score 1-1 after 59 minutes of play. In the 61st minute, Ture Wiid hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gus Simpson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jess Mørkner having to interfere. Åkirkeby FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 67th minute, when Nick McDonachie scored to the left of an out of position Jess Mørkner, making the score, 1-2. Keith Beton made in the 71st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Åkirkeby FC's Helmuth Rahbek. Jens Harsted scored 2-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brandon Borthwick, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dundee Rovers's Brandon Borthwick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens Harsted in the 74th minute of play. Dean Dyer hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. A collision led to Åkirkeby FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Johnny Folsted hit a great ball. When Åkirkeby FC's Jens Harsted in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dundee Rovers's goalie prevented a goal. 83 minutes into the match, Åkirkeby FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver McIlvride came free, but Jess Mørkner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Johnny Folsted hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the match, Åkirkeby FC's Ture Wiid sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brandon Borthwick narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 88 played minutes Åkirkeby FC got a freekick which was hit by Johnny Folsted. Jess Mørkner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gus Simpson in the 94th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
