The referee ignored FC Nordsjælland's protests and gave Dimitar Berbatov a yellow card for diving instead. Gilbert Manduca struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Hans Baunbæk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Froghino. 20 minutes into the match, FC Nordsjælland's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Ries came free, but Hans Baunbæk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hans Baunbæk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Lindholm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the game, Andreas Schjelderup was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Nordsjælland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Froghino the free kick. In the 22nd match minute, FC Nordsjælland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Schjelderup to maneuver through the defense. Adam Ries's late challenge caught a FC Nordsjælland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Froghino's Klaus Gryc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Froghino from getting a goal against them. In the 41st match minute, Froghino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilbert Manduca to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Adam Ries's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans Baunbæk was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The supporters of FC Nordsjælland booed when Froghino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yoncho Vladislavov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Svensson might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Klaus Gryc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Svensson ran back to his position shaking his head. Ota Hvězda kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Nordsjælland's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. František Špaček was slow to take the kick. During this time Froghino's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Vladimír Voráček got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hans Baunbæk quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Adam Ries kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Ibrahim Osman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When FC Nordsjælland's Sindre Walle in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Froghino's goalie prevented a goal. Jeppe Tverskov struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Adam Ries fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Baunbæk having to interfere. In the 84th minute Sindre Walle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klaus Gryc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klaus Gryc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimitar Berbatov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Klaus Gryc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dimitar Berbatov in the 92nd minute of play. Froghino's Klaus Gryc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sindre Walle in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th minute Ibrahim Osman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klaus Gryc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
