If Guido Carrillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tautvydas Mickevičius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Fernandez in the 39th minute of play. Tautvydas Mickevičius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute Elias Pagomari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tautvydas Mickevičius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elias Pagomari recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half GuateFortín were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When GuateFortín's Ernesto Fernandez in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Dirk Behrens went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elias Pagomari got free with Tautvydas Mickevičius in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute, GuateFortín's Elias Pagomari ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tautvydas Mickevičius. Tautvydas Mickevičius yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Fernandez in the 86th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Tautvydas Mickevičius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Ruiz made in the 90th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Dirk Behrens. The supporters of ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Ruiz didn't get a good kick on the ball.
