Cristian Naike started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Fortin FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Elvio Hitzeder hit a great ball. After 5 minutes of play, Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Isaias Hug was left in no man's land by his defense there! Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jari Thørring, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fortin FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Santos Fonda ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Santos Fonda got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Isaias Hug quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 26th minute Cristian Naike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaias Hug saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, Jari Thørring recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Elpidio Vitin. Jari Thørring showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Fortin FC's 김 망절 got a free kick in the 31st minute. Fortin FC's Isaias Hug played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Sayvion in the 42nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gilberto Mello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elpidio Vitin was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. After the first half Vélez Juniors were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Pavone in the 56th minute of play. Isaias Hug made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Naike in the 60th minute of play. Mariano Pavone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Naike in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaias Hug saved Fortin FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jari Thørring in the 71st minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Cristian Naike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaias Hug saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Fortin FC defense, Cristian Naike kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isaias Hug. The Fortin FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isaias Hug should have stopped the shot. Fortin FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Cristian Naike scored to the left of an out of position Isaias Hug, making the score, 2-5. Cristian Naike's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isaias Hug read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Cristian Naike scored 2-6 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isaias Hug, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Mello in the 91st minute of play. After 93 minutes of play, Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike made it 2-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Isaias Hug was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Vélez Juniors eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
