Sven-Edvin Jansson started the match with the kick off. GuateFortín's attentive Roberto Trotta managed to snatch the ball when Doctor Frankenhaeuser made a throw-in in the 2nd minute of the game. Filip Josefsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Nery Pumpido made a huge save. A collision led to PINGO PINGO getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Gregorio Tancoš hit a great ball. Filip Josefsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nery Pumpido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Filip Josefsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Filip Josefsson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nery Pumpido firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Ivan Lozano fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GuateFortín's protests and gave Ivan Lozano a yellow card for diving instead. Ivan Lozano kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 19th match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Trotta to maneuver through the defense. Filip Josefsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nery Pumpido read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Dionisio Raphael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute Zico Zellier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionisio Raphael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Filip Josefsson made a kick off. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 56 minutes into the game, GuateFortín's Thierry Henry nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dionisio Raphael made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 60 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Filip Josefsson came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Filip Josefsson notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido. Nery Pumpido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. PINGO PINGO's Desta Roy was substituted for Baldomiro Cordarrell. PINGO PINGO made a substitution. Alvaro Micarelli replaced Filip Josefsson. GuateFortín made a substitution. Mario Gomez replaced Thierry Henry. In the 92nd minute Mario Gomez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionisio Raphael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dionisio Raphael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angel Alvarenga in the 94th minute of the match. The GuateFortín supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing GuateFortín would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
