Máximo Perrone could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Isaias Hug made a huge save. In the 27th minute GuateFortín were awarded a corner. Angel Alvarenga went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led GuateFortín's Roberto Trotta to fire away a dangerous shot which Isaias Hug despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Fortin FC's Jari Thørring nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nery Pumpido made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Lautaro Acosta replaced Denis Isaio. Isaias Hug made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Gomez in the 83rd minute of play. Hipolito Vincente kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Fortin FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mario Gomez came free, but Isaias Hug reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. GuateFortín had won after a very even match.
