Turgut Soyuer took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Şemsettin Tuyuğ. Şemsettin Tuyuğ dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Turgut Soyuer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. KOCAELİSPOR's Şemsettin Tuyuğ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Turgut Soyuer in the 12th minute of play. Şemsettin Tuyuğ didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Turgut Soyuer went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Turgut Soyuer in the 19th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Turgut Soyuer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Şemsettin Tuyuğ was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. When KOCAELİSPOR's Naim Süleymanoğlu in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The throw-in from Behzat Tanyeli in the 42nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by KOCAELİSPOR's Fiori Britto. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Turkey's Turgut Soyuer in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KOCAELİSPOR's goalie prevented a goal. Turkey's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Servet Sönmez in the 54th minute. The corner led Turkey's Taha Campbell to fire away a dangerous shot which Şemsettin Tuyuğ despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Turkey's Turgut Soyuer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Turgut Soyuer in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Şemsettin Tuyuğ prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 63 minutes into the match, Turgut Soyuer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Şemsettin Tuyuğ. KOCAELİSPOR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Turgut Soyuer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. KOCAELİSPOR made a substitution. Rafet Hazin replaced Ediz Tekdoğan. KOCAELİSPOR made a substitution. Robert Percha replaced Naim Süleymanoğlu. In the 69th minute Gürhan Sarıoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şemsettin Tuyuğ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as KOCAELİSPOR's Robert Percha slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cankut Wakabayashi. That made the score 5-1 after 75 minutes of play. Turkey made a substitution. Zé Dos Reis replaced Turgut Soyuer. In the 78th minute, Claudio Delgadillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Dos Reis in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Şemsettin Tuyuğ saved KOCAELİSPOR from getting behind. A collision led to Turkey getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Çakır Acunman hit a great ball. 83 in the game KOCAELİSPOR's Fiori Britto showed how dangerous he can be in front of the goal when he by his own managed to get a clear opportunity for a shot. The following shot went just left of the goal. Fiori Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 94th minute of the match Servet Sönmez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Şemsettin Tuyuğ showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. There was no doubt that Turkey were the better team. Turkey's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
