After a defensive mix-up in Vilo Futbol Club's zone, Luís Fábio Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabian Emeterio came out of the goal and Luís Fábio Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 13 minutes into the match, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Castel came free, but Higinio Aguilera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Fábio Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabian Emeterio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Fábio Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabian Emeterio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fábio Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Higinio Aguilera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Castel in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Demy Ottens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabian Emeterio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Higinio Aguilera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Hernando in the 21st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Luís Fábio Rocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabian Emeterio was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vilo Futbol Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Argi Casta was slow to take the kick. During this time Los Hijos de Doña Beija's players had a chance to rest. Higinio Aztore charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Higinio Aztore the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Luís Fábio Rocha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabian Emeterio was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After having played for 31 minutes, Luís Fábio Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The supporters of Vilo Futbol Club booed when Los Hijos de Doña Beija was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position.
