The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Itajaí Football Club's goalkeeper Flávio Batista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Indiana Jones. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Madureira in the 36th minute of play forced Matanza and Steelers's goalkeeper Matías Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the game, Charles Guerra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Matanza and Steelers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itajaí Football Club the free kick. In the 43rd minute, José Vítor Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronaldinho Carneiro was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Matanza and Steelers's Indiana Jones got a free kick in the 50th minute. William Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. William Arósio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Matías Quirino made a huge save. In the 62nd minute, Túlio Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matanza and Steelers's Matías Quirino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Matanza and Steelers from getting a goal against them. After 65 minutes of play, Itajaí Football Club's Anselmo Madureira made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Matías Quirino was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 69 minutes, Túlio Jacinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itajaí Football Club and the Matanza and Steelers players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Túlio Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute of the match Ronaldinho Carneiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Flávio Batista showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Matanza and Steelers's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Madureira came free, but Matías Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Itajaí Football Club's Flávio Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Carneiro in the 81st minute of play. Flávio Batista came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Matanza and Steelers's Ronaldinho Carneiro. But to his dismay, Ronaldinho Carneiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Itajaí Football Club's Anselmo Madureira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Matías Quirino. That made the score 2-3 after 84 minutes of play. Itajaí Football Club's Flávio Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indiana Jones in the 95th minute of play. Itajaí Football Club played a much better game than Matanza and Steelers and deserved their victory. The Matanza and Steelers players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
