Bartolo Pacho kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. A hard shot 15 in the game by Anselmo Madureira from a close distance when the talented Amancio Urtats managed to make a qualified save. El Retorno de Palermo's players were relieved. Amancio Urtats made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when William Arósio sent off a good shot on target. El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save El Retorno de Palermo from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Cornelio Itzaina's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flávio Batista was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Anselmo Madureira didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 2-0 via right post in the game's 24th minute. Itajaí Football Club's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! In the 36th match minute, Itajaí Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Arósio to maneuver through the defense. After 42 minutes, Anselmo Madureira made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anselmo Madureira to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Itajaí Football Club's Christiano Cearense got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute, Marco Bitxintxo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ismael Musko hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Amancio Urtats didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anselmo Madureira went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in El Retorno de Palermo's zone, Anselmo Madureira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amancio Urtats came out of the goal and Anselmo Madureira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute, El Retorno de Palermo's Dionisio Eutor seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dionisio Eutor the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of El Retorno de Palermo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dionisio Eutor had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 62 minutes into the game, one of El Retorno de Palermo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Itajaí Football Club a penalty, 65 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Norberto Abreu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats. 5-1. Amancio Urtats came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Itajaí Football Club's Sílvio Luís do Nascimento. But to his dismay, Sílvio Luís do Nascimento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. In the 77th match minute, Itajaí Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Arósio to maneuver through the defense. Marco Bezerra kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Sílvio Luís do Nascimento took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amancio Urtats. Amancio Urtats dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. In the 85th minute, Bartolo Pacho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, Anselmo Madureira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When William Arósio came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Itajaí Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that William Arósio couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd minute Anselmo Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Urtats saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to El Retorno de Palermo getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Carolo Alonso hit a great ball.
