Eric Luican made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hristo Stoichkov in the 15th minute of play. After 17 minutes Cosmópolis Futebol Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Juanito Gabucio who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Athletico Picapedrense getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ali Ömer Ongu hit a great ball. Eric Luican showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hristo Stoichkov, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hristo Stoichkov in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eric Luican prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manfredo Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hristo Stoichkov in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eric Luican saved Cosmópolis Futebol Clube from getting behind. The Athletico Picapedrense fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Athletico Picapedrense's Hristo Stoichkov looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Orlondo Aguado scored 0-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Luican, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cosmópolis Futebol Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Juanito Gabucio was slow to take the kick. During this time Athletico Picapedrense's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Juanito Gabucio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cosmópolis Futebol Clube's Eric Luican did a great save. Manfredo Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Ömer Ongu in the 43rd minute of play forced Cosmópolis Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Eric Luican to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jesus Sayveon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Habib Al Dosery in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matias Zanette was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Cosmópolis Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Eric Luican had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hristo Stoichkov. Hristo Stoichkov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Eric Luican made a huge save. A hard shot 62 in the game by Eloi Fontanella from a close distance when the talented Eric Luican managed to make a qualified save. Cosmópolis Futebol Clube's players were relieved. In the 65th minute, Athletico Picapedrense's Eloi Fontanella ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eric Luican. Eloi Fontanella scored 0-6 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Luican, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eric Luican took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Ömer Ongu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Eloi Fontanella could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Eric Luican however easily saved by the left post. Diogo Melo might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jesus Sayveon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diogo Melo ran back to his position shaking his head. Jesus Sayveon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Habib Al Dosery, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cosmópolis Futebol Clube's Habib Al Dosery managed to work through Athletico Picapedrense's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Habib Al Dosery dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Eloi Fontanella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cosmópolis Futebol Clube's Eric Luican played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloi Fontanella in the 88th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Athletico Picapedrense's Eloi Fontanella nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Luican made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. In the 96th minute of the match Athletico Picapedrense got a corner. Cosmópolis Futebol Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Juanito Gabucio ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Athletico Picapedrense's corner Juanito Gabucio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eric Luican quite easily take care of the ball. The Cosmópolis Futebol Clube supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Athletico Picapedrense's performance. The match ended with a win for Athletico Picapedrense.
