With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filiberto Fidele prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 15 played minutes El Retorno de Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Oalo. The supporters of Flames FC booed when El Retorno de Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florencio Patrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 17 played minutes, Flames FC's Micheal Burnham shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Filiberto Fidele came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Flames FC reached it. El Retorno de Palermo's Filiberto Fidele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orval Crow in the 19th minute of play. Margarito Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Ofelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Flames FC's goalkeeper Margarito Santana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guillermo Espiridion. El Retorno de Palermo were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Flames FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aaron Cebo took the corner. After a defensive mix-up in El Retorno de Palermo's zone, Norbert Garland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filiberto Fidele came out of the goal and Norbert Garland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Filiberto Fidele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norbert Garland in the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norbert Garland in the 44th minute of play forced El Retorno de Palermo's goalkeeper Filiberto Fidele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Filiberto Fidele came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Flames FC's Orval Crow. But to his dismay, Orval Crow quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Flames FC made a substitution. Ty Lapierre replaced Hans Lavallée. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beau Hinojosa during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Aaron Cebo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 74th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Orval Crow blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Filiberto Fidele having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norbert Garland in the 77th minute of play forced El Retorno de Palermo's goalkeeper Filiberto Fidele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filiberto Fidele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norbert Garland, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Flames FC played a much better game than El Retorno de Palermo and deserved their victory. The El Retorno de Palermo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
