But to his dismay, Alberto Walme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Oalo came free, but Santiago Gau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. El Retorno de Palermo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Esteban Panfilo in the 13th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Oalo came free, but Santiago Gau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anibal Egoitz during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gerardo Oinatz made a kick off. In the 54th minute Rosendo Izotz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Gau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Oalo in the 55th minute of play forced Mainumby's goalkeeper Santiago Gau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Rosendo Izotz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Retorno de Palermo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. In the 92nd minute, Alberto Walme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santiago Gau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Oalo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. El Retorno de Palermo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
