After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Armando Beltza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mainumby's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Beltza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tadeo Oxarra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Lorenz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, Mainumby's Gerardo Oinatz made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tadeo Oxarra was left in no man's land by his defense there! 63 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Español's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Oinatz came free, but Tadeo Oxarra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, David Lorenz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodrigo Peter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Gau having to interfere. Tadeo Oxarra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Honorato Omero in the 72nd minute of the match. When Godfredo Iyan fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Deportivo Español's protests and gave Godfredo Iyan a yellow card for diving instead. Gerardo Oinatz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tadeo Oxarra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. In the 94th minute, Club Deportivo Español's Ceferino Honrio seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ceferino Honrio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Deportivo Español protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ceferino Honrio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 93 minutes into the game, one of Club Deportivo Español:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Mainumby. Gerardo Oinatz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tadeo Oxarra. 4-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mainumby fully deserved thier win.
