An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Quinn Coyle got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Desmond McOliver made in the 10th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by River Thames FC's Charles Baker. Aras Görkem Zümer hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the game, John-Paul Wall was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Thames FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guinness Athletic the free kick. A collision led to River Thames FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. John-Paul Wall hit a great ball. Briain McJon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blaithmeic Dempsey hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute of the match Tod Cartwright sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lisandro Ospin skillfully saved the ball. Quinn Coyle's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Trev Cahill firmly grabbed it by the left post. River Thames FC's Trev Cahill proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save River Thames FC from getting a goal against them. Kyle Harkin charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kyle Harkin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of River Thames FC booed when Guinness Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kyle Harkin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Louis McWill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Quinn Coyle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Desmond McOliver in the 53rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by River Thames FC's Charles Baker. Desmond McOliver made in the 57th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Louis McWill immediately put the ball in play. After 58 played minutes River Thames FC got a freekick which was hit by Tod Cartwright. River Thames FC's Trev Cahill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryan McNamee in the 60th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, River Thames FC's goal looked a bit too open when Quinn Coyle came free, but Trev Cahill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Louis McWill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Trev Cahill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, River Thames FC's goal looked a bit too open when Quinn Coyle came free, but Trev Cahill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ian York fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Thames FC's protests and gave Ian York a yellow card for diving instead. After 83 played minutes River Thames FC got a freekick which was hit by Ian York. Guinness Athletic were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
