Francis Gurney didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 16th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. 21 minutes into the match, The White Rovers's goalkeeper Francis Gurney had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gus Weir. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mattias Cartwright made a kick off. The White Rovers's Francis Gurney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timothy Thorne in the 55th minute of play. Timothy Thorne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Francis Gurney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, Timothy Thorne cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Francis Gurney was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to The White Rovers getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Archie Garner hit a great ball. Trevor Brooke charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trevor Brooke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Real Chelsea walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
