In the 3rd minute Huw Howard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Saunders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Edinburgh City's goalkeeper Tom Saunders had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Boleslaw Mudry. In the 13th minute, Boleslaw Mudry left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chester City AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After 15 played minutes Chester City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Rhuvawn Corr. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, John McLae put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Emrys Fry. After 26 played minutes Edinburgh City got a freekick which was hit by Frankie Conlon. 28 minutes into the match, Chester City AFC's goal looked a bit too open when John McLae came free, but Emrys Fry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tom Saunders showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boleslaw Mudry in the 30th minute of the match. Emrys Fry showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John McLae, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Emrys Fry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jason Geddes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Peissawg Francis came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Chester City AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peissawg Francis couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Boleslaw Mudry stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tom Saunders showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Huw Howard, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 59th minute, Huw Howard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tom Saunders was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Guy Gordon kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Berwyn Dunkin struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Tom Saunders didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chester City AFC. Boleslaw Mudry took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tom Saunders. Tom Saunders dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. Edinburgh City's Tom Saunders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peissawg Francis in the 68th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Boleslaw Mudry had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tom Saunders. Edinburgh City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Boleslaw Mudry was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-3. 76 minutes into the match, Edinburgh City's goal looked a bit too open when Huw Howard came free, but Tom Saunders reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John McLae took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emrys Fry. Emrys Fry dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-4. A collision led to Chester City AFC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Huw Howard hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 92 minutes into the game, when Berwyn Dunkin put in a rough tackle. In the 92nd minute, one of Chester City AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chester City AFC. The goalkeeper, Emrys Fry, was totally fooled by Edinburgh City's Ciaran McAy, who 94 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 97 minutes into the game, one of Chester City AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
