Caolán McTommy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quinn McBjarton was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nick McDonachie showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. Brandon Borthwick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caolán McTommy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Dundee Rovers getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Walter Munn hit a great ball. Quinn McBjarton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gus Simpson in the 20th minute. Dundee Rovers's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oliver McIlvride in the 22nd minute. Finn McJohn charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Finn McJohn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Limerick AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Quinn McBjarton, was totally fooled by Dundee Rovers's Oliver McIlvride, who 24 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 30th match minute, Dundee Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keith Beton to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Limerick AFC's Caolán McTommy got a free kick in the 34th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Limerick AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Nick McDonachie came free, but Quinn McBjarton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Quinn McBjarton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick McDonachie in the 43rd minute of play.

The wind increased when Nick McDonachie made the kick off in the second half. When Dundee Rovers's Oliver McIlvride in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
