When Perry Shields fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico Roma's protests and gave Perry Shields a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The wind increased when Will Hotte made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Atletico Roma's Jo Zamora got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Trev Cahill was left in no man's land by his defense there! Trev Cahill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Hudson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. River Thames FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
