Gabriel Salvidor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gabriel Salvidor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafin Txeru, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Quintin in the 23rd minute of play forced Chorroarín's goalkeeper Gabriel Salvidor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santos Roldan to make the kick off. Martin Palermo F.C.'s Severino Loco got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chorroarín's Gabriel Salvidor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Chorroarín from getting a goal against them. Gabriel Salvidor was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rigoberto Ponc showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 86 minute of play. Gabriel Salvidor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Serafin Txeru in the 89th minute. If Rigoberto Ponc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martin Palermo F.C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
